World War I John Freeman Hames

John Freeman Hames

John Freeman Hames was in France during WWI.  He rode a motorcycle with a side-car and was the driver for his troop leader.  He took him to the different areas of the front.  Pop had lots of great stories about his time in France.  The one thing he did not do, was tell us the horror of war.  He was careful to just tell the adventures he knew a bunch of young children would love to hear.

Our whole family greatly loved and admired his courage, kindness and sense of humor.  He loved greatly and died gently.  We miss him still.
